Ladies-only karate and self-defence in Doha
A private, friendly karate class for women and girls aged 16+. Build strength, confidence and real self-defence skills, with modest dress welcome. Your first class is free.
Train with confidence, among women
Many women in Qatar want to learn self-defence and get fit, but prefer to train with other women. Our ladies-only classes give you exactly that: a private setting, a respectful dojo and a patient instructor.
You learn traditional Japanese karate to the JKS syllabus, practical self-defence for real situations, and the calm confidence that comes from mastering something difficult. Our female students grade through the same belts as everyone else, all the way to black belt.

More than a workout: how karate eases stress and anxiety
Between work, family and the mental load of daily life, many women carry constant tension in their shoulders, breath and mind. Ordinary fitness classes burn calories but rarely quiet a busy mind. Karate works on both.
- Breath and focus. You can’t worry about tomorrow’s to-do list while you focus on a precise stance or kata. With deep ibuki breathing and mokuso (quiet sitting), most women leave calmer than they arrived.
- A healthy release (kime). Focusing your energy into crisp, controlled strikes on pads releases frustration and leaves you lighter and clearer.
- Fear replaced by confidence. Reading distance, setting firm boundaries with your voice and body, and breaking free from a grab change how you walk through the world.
- Strength and posture. Strong legs, a stable core, mobile hips and upright posture, without heavy weights or jarring jumps.
Karate supports wellbeing; it is not a substitute for medical or psychological care.

Can karate help with stress and anxiety?
Many women tell us it is the best part of their week. Striking pads, deep breathing and the full focus that kata demands give stress a physical outlet and leave you calmer and clearer. Karate is not a substitute for medical or psychological care, but it is a healthy, supportive way to look after your wellbeing.
Will I get hurt or be made to fight?
No. Traditional Japanese karate is built on control and respect. You practise strikes, blocks and escapes on pads and with cooperative partners; sparring is never forced.
What ages can join the ladies-only classes?
Women and girls from 16 upwards: students, working women, mothers and grandmothers in their 40s, 50s and beyond.
Is the first class free?
Yes. Your first class is free, with no commitment.
